Music for the fight that matters.
Full orchestra, choir, and a sense of scale — the climactic, once-a-campaign cues for the dragon, the lich, the final stand. Bigger than a skirmish, and built to be the moment.

A boss battle is the one fight that should sound different. Where ordinary combat music stays out of the way, a boss theme is allowed to be the centre of attention — bigger orchestration, a real melodic hook, choir if you’ve got it. This is the track players remember, so don’t waste it on every encounter.
Timing is everything. Don’t hit play when the boss appears — wait for the turn. Let the reveal land in near-silence, drop a line of dialogue, then bring the music in as initiative starts. And give the finale room: when the killing blow comes, cut to silence for a beat before the triumph. The contrast is what makes it cinematic.
