Musical Worldbuilding with Members of the Pantheon: A Custom Soundtrack for Your Story
PatreonHey everyone!
I’ve been absolutely loving the creative journey I’m on with the three amazing storytellers currently subscribed to my Members of the Pantheon tier. It’s been a fantastic experience collaborating with them on creating tailored soundtracks that truly enhance their worlds, and I’m so excited about taking this experience to the next level!
I wanted to share a bit more about what I’m planning for this tier, as I think it’s going to be an incredible opportunity for storytellers to really connect their narratives with music in a deeply immersive way.
What I love most about music writing is storytelling. Music has a unique ability to tell stories – it bypasses words and speaks directly to our emotions. I believe music is an amazing partner for narratives of all types because it amplifies the emotional impact of the story. Think of how music enhances iconic films like Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, or Star Wars – the music doesn’t just accompany the story, it enhances the worldbuilding itself, making it more immersive and memorable.
I’ve been thinking of ways to bring that level of depth to the music I write for you all. One way of doing that is Members of the Pantheon – my most exclusive offer, a place where I collaborate closely with creators as they build their narratives. Together, we’ll craft music that speaks to their world, amplifying the emotions and making the audience connect even more deeply.
Another idea that’s been on the drafting board is a return to Adoan, my own worldbuilding project, where I’ll start writing a series of albums that share the same “music bible” of leitmotifs. Think of it as a musical universe, where the themes carry over and everything feels cohesive, no matter what mood you’re aiming for. This approach addresses the usual disconnect that happens when music from different sources is thrown together without a narrative structure. It’s a way to avoid the bland, unimpactful soundtracks that often lack emotional connection.
The idea I’ve been thinking about for Members of the Pantheon is to focus on worldbuilding through music. Imagine working together to define themes for your characters, your factions, your goals, and even pivotal moments in your story. We’ll collaborate on creating a “music bible” that guides the music for your world building and narrative, where we outline specific motifs for your world:
A theme for your party’s characters, capturing their essence.
A theme for your big bad guy (or evil itself), building up the tension.
Music for the heroic moments, where your players feel the pulse of triumph.
An anthem for recurring factions, goals, locations, etc.
This isn’t just about writing random songs – it’s about crafting a coherent, fully integrated soundtrack for your entire narrative. Each piece of music will serve a specific purpose, with leitmotifs that recur throughout the story, creating a sense of cohesion and connection. Music that echoes your world’s essence and deepens the experience of your audience or players.
To give you an example, I’ll work with you to define the sound you want for, say, your villain. Perhaps we decide on instruments and a vibe that represent their dark, manipulative nature, and then I’ll make sure that’s reflected consistently whenever the villain’s influence is present. The music won’t just be a backdrop, it will be a key part of the storytelling, helping to immerse your audience even more deeply.
This is an initial 6-month experiment, and I’m only offering 2 more slots right now. If things continue to go well, I’ll likely open up more spots, but they’ll most likely be at a higher price point. So, if you’re interested in being part of this exclusive group and want to create a soundtrack that’s as unique as your story, now’s the perfect time to join!
