About The Hidden Blade
The Hidden Blade is the centerpiece of my album inspired by Marie M. Mullany’s first novel, and it’s a track that holds a special place in my heart. Before I even began composing, I immersed myself in the world of The Sangwheel Chronicles by reading the entire first novel. I wanted to truly understand the essence of the story and let that guide me in creating a theme that would not only resonate with the narrative but also capture the emotions that flow through the book.
From the start, I knew this track had to be different—more intimate and personal than my recent releases. Given that my patrons chose Dark Fantasy as the overarching theme for the album, I set out to craft a soundscape that was deeply rooted in darkness but still allowed for brief, shimmering glimpses of hope. This duality is at the core of The Hidden Blade, reflecting the intricate and often grim journey of the characters, yet always hinting at the possibility of redemption and light.
In this track, you’ll hear the echoes of a world steeped in shadow, but also the flickers of resilience and hope that define the story arc of The Hidden Blade. It’s a piece that seeks to mirror the depth and complexity of the narrative, offering listeners a musical journey that is both haunting and uplifting.
