Working on a New Music Album Inspired by Wheel of Time

Album Kruggsmash Wheel of Time

After the release of my album Fjall I started working on a new viking music album for the tabletop game Svilland by Dream Real Storytellers. It will basically be used as a soundtrack during gameplay. And I’m happy to announce I’m almost done with finishing the initial songs. Just a few more to go and I’ll then move to the editing/mixing stage.

So in the meantime I wanted to move back to writing more orchestral fantasy music. This time using many of the viking/ european instruments I acquired while working on my viking and celtic music.

Instruments like the tagelharpa, tin whistles, ethnic flutes, bodhran, war horns, lyres, etc.

So before moving on with this post I must say I’m an avid fantasy books reader.

I’ve been so since I learned how to read and it’s been a habit and taste that I kept throughout my adulthood. And I’m thinking about paying homage to some of the fantasy books I’ve enjoyed the most, by writing music inspired by them.

So my new project for which I’m releasing the first song in YouTube today is going to be inspired by Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time Series.

In all honesty, this is a series I’m just reading for the first time and I’m still not done with the 15 books. But I’m enjoying it a lot. Feels almost like reading the Lord of the Rings for the first time to me.

So, I’m starting by writing music inspired by the first book in the series: The Eye of the World and see where it takes me from there.

I hope you Wheel of Time fans enjoy it. Here’s the link to the latest song I wrote: https://www.youtube.com/embed/xcBLPQU05f8
